BLESSED MOTHER MARY

BLESSED MOTHER MARY

Blessed Mother Mary is the Patroness of Fatima School, Tajopur, Mau. She was born in 18 B.C. Her father was Joachim and mother was Anne. God sent His Angel Gabriel to Mary and announced that she would be the mother of His son whom she would name Jesus. Thus, she became the mother of Jesus.

Between May 13 and October 13, 1917, Blessed Mother Mary appeared to three Portuguese children namely Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta at Fatima, a city 110 miles north of Lisbon, Mary asked the children to pray the rosary for world peace, for the end of World War I, for sinners and for the conversion of Russia. So, she is also called Our Lady of Fatima.

Mary was highly favoured. She was chosen to be the mother of Jesus and humanity. This tells us that Mary was a young woman of outstanding moral and spiritual character. She was submissive to God. Mary was a woman of faith and was charitable. She was humble, thoughtful and a role model for women. She loves us, prays for us and attends to our needs.

As a motherly figure, Mary exemplifies strength of godliness, maternal instinct, portrays traits of holiness, piety and humbleness. One of the most valuable strengths Mary possessed was her ability to persevere. She went through many trials in her life, but never lost sight of the Lord. She completely trusted God with a strong will to overcome obstacles and setbacks.

Throughout history there have been supernatural apparitions and signs which go to the heart of human events. These manifestations have their focus on God's love which leads men and women to Him and bestows the grace required to abandon oneself to Him with filial devotion. At Fatima, Blessed Mother Mary gave an urgent call for Change of heart. The feast of Blessed’s mother Mary is celebrated on 13 October in the school.
